What Is an Underground Sump?
An underground sump is a below-ground RCC reservoir that stores large volumes of water at ground level. In most water-supply schemes, water is first collected in the sump and then pumped up to an ESR for gravity distribution. Sumps demand watertight RCC construction and careful waterproofing.
